How are BDTA programs different?

All of our programs are taught by theater professionals, many of whom you will see on stage and behind the scenes at Boulder's Dinner Theatre. The BDT Academy was founded as a separate non-profit so that these professionals could bring their standards to children's theater programs. 

Check out our Kids Kabaret shows (performances for preschool and elementary-aged chldren)... or our Summer Theater Production Camps for middle- and high-school students, and you'll see that we have raised the bar for children's theater programs to a whole new level!

Kids Kabaret 
 Performances for Young Children 

Performed by BDTA professionals, this is live theater for 3-to 9-year-olds at its best!  fun and educational - the audience also gets a peek behind the scenes to see how live theater actually works!

Theater Camps for
Elementary School

Imagination and play! These outdoor, week-long theater camps introduce 5-to-12-year-olds to theater arts and foster creative self-expression.

Theater Production Camps for Middle & High School

Directed by professional choreographers and actors, our 3-week theater intensives emphasize collaboration in full-scale musical productions.

  • Maximum of 30 kids per camp
  • Daily rehearsals held on the BDT mainstage 
  • The camps for middle school (June) and high school (July) each culminate in a full-scale production on the BDT mainstage
